Blanca Mompeó

Dr. Blanca Mompeó is a Medical Doctor and an Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Human Embryology at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). Before joining university teaching staff, she worked as a primary care physician in the public health system. She teaches Gross Human Anatomy and Embryology, since 1990. She has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Physical Education.

Her fields of research are: the nervous system, vascular system and medical education.She has published more than 40 papers in national and international journals, co-directed 3 doctoral theses and published 10 book chapters.

She carried out postdoctoral research training at the Institute of Cell Biology and Pathology "Nicolae simionescu" of Bucharest (Romania) in 1995, and at the Institut für Anatomie of the Universität of Leipzig (Germany) (2000-2001). She was the director responsible for the university degrees of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2007-2012) and the institutional coordinator of the international exchange programs of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2012-2014). She is currently Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the ULPGC (2014-2018)
